AUSTIN — This International Women’s Day, March 8, 2017, there will be a screening of Mary Dore’s documentary about the early women’s movement, She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry. It will be shown at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, 1120 South Lamar Blvd., at 7 p.m.
The film was highlighted on The Rag Blog when it premiered in Austin in 2015.
The Austin chapter of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) Feminist Action Committee is sponsoring this powerful film testament to a movement that changed America. Proceeds from this showing at the Alamo Drafthouse will support the National Network for Abortion Funds. In addition to screening this film, the local DSA chapter has registered a bowling team for the annual Bowl-a-thon that raises money to provide access for low-income women seeking abortion services.
You can find out more about the DSA Feminist Action Committee on Facebook and share the International Women’s Day event posting for this film.
